This card was created especially for one of my dear ETSY customers, but I want to share it here because I *really* like how it turned out. She requested no sentiment, just a floral image on the front so the card can be used for any occasion. For some reason, I've always felt like I needed to have a sentiment on the front of my cards, but not anymore! : ) The floral image is from Stampin' Up! set ~ Close as a Memory.
The "aged" and sponged distressing is something I've been doing a lot lately. I especially like it when the designer paper already has an aged look to it. This card is larger than what I usually create, but I wanted to use my square punch and simply figured what it would take to do four squares across with room for stitching in between. It may look like I stitched around each square, but really I just went around the outside and down each row. Easy!
Below is a photo of the inside, left blank for her own correspondence. If you're wondering how I created the corners . . . first, I took my little 1/4" square punch and punched into the designer paper, then I took my 1-3/8" square punch and centered the 1/4" square in the center. After punching this out, I cut it in half diagonally. I know, they make corner punches, but this works great too. Oh, and I added more zig zag stitching and sponged all around too.
Wishing you all a warm and wonderful weekend! Happy Stamping & Smiles 2 U!
Quote for Today ~
It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! ~Mark Twain

Wonderfully done, Pam :D Love the colours and I never tire of that floral image - one of my faves. Love the quilt pattern and your stitching. I'm sure your customer will love it :D
love all the stitching!
OH! I especially love this one too!! What beautiful colors.... We had 50 degree's and a few rain sprinkles yesterday. Very little snow this year, which is odd for us.... I'm not complaining though. Its still dark out right now but it looks kind of foggy today. I too am anxious for spring. I noticed yesterday that my Mom's Iris are starting to come up. It must be getting near!
