{MOJO120 and CTD74} For My Friends ~

First of all today, I want to say THANK U from the bottom of my *heart* for all the delightful comments you left on my last post (the one with my son's birthday card)! Your encouragement has inspired me to give the roughed up distressed look another try and here it is . . .

For my Valentine, I've used two (2) challenges to spark my creativity! The first one is the COLOR THROWDOWN color challenge to use regal rose, chocolate chip and dusty durango. Oh my! I think that's why I went with the distressed look as it toned them down a bit! ;)For the layout, I used Teresa Kline's super "Mojo-licious" MOJO Monday sketch #120. Such a terrific sketch to work with and incorporate various layers. I pulled the three colors of cardstock out of my file and then went through my designer paper stash to see if I had anything that would remotely coordinate with them! I found a piece of Basic Grey (Angelic BLUSH) that I thought would work and cut it to use the scalloped edge in the design for the scallop in the sketch. My next challenge was what to use for the scalloped circle. I have a jumbo Marvy Uchida punch which was too big and my Stampin' Up scalloped punch seemed a bit small. Anyway, I opted to use my new Stampin' Up! I {Heart} Hearts set, cut them out and layer them and call it good enough! The grosgrain ribbon is regal rose and I've used one of the chocolate chip corduroy buttons with some heavy embroidery thread tied through it into a bow. All the edges were sponged with chocolate chip ink and I added some random stitching too. Just a FUN card to make and I hope you like it!
You're all encouraged to participate in any of these challenges. Just click on the links I've provided and read all the details on their blogs!

Oh! I almost forgot to mention that I'm SNOWED IN AGAIN today and couldn't get in to work. Too bad, so sad! LOL I *love* being home and could really get use to this life of leisure and stamping all day! It has quit snowing but it is still blowing and drifting and the temps are bitter COLD too! I want to get outside and take a few more photos to share with you, but I'm waiting until the wind dies down.

I hope you're all WARM & COZY where you are!
Happy Stamping, my friends and thank you for blogging by today!
Hugs & Smiles!
