FUN night at Stamp Club! { Stampin' it Up! }

Last night our Stampin' Up! group met and had a wonderful time creating with the new IN colors! Special thanks to our hostess Mandey ~ "Who Knew...Creativity!" and to our super creative SU demo Jason Barelman. (Jason, you need a blog or SU site for me to link to! :)

Look at these fantastic projects we made! The first is a birthday card using the new "Pick a Petal" set (p 133) which is now at the top of my wish list after I get all the new colors. This is a 5 x 5 square card in chocolate chip and we've layered on Soft Sky designer series paper. We stamped the polka dot petal on soft sky cardstock, cut it out and attached with dimensionals. The double stitched ribbon in soft sky is the perfect touch.

Then we had a special demonstration by my sweet DIL Jami ~ "Crazy Daisy Creations" showing us how to create this matching box with the "Five in One Card Cover" template (p. 169) from Stampin' Up! Isn't it gorgeous?! We used the same soft sky designer paper and chocolate chip cardstock as the card. The adorable little tag was made with the new SU scalloped punch (p. 183) and the 1-1/4" and 1" circle punches. The sentiment is from the "Circle of Friendship" set (p. 150). If you are interested in creating one of these nifty little boxes, there is an excellent tutorial at SplitcoastStampers.

As if this wasn't enough, we made one more FUN card using the "Pick a Petal" set. We could choose which IN color we wanted for the card and I *had* to go with "Wild Wasabi" ~ my new favorite GREEN! :) We started by inking the background with the "Spot On" jumbo wheel. The dragonfly wings were created with one of the petals from "Pick a Petal". Of course, I had to choose the SMILE doodled one. The black dots for the body are just black cardstock punched with the 1/4" and 1/2" circle punches. We doodled around the edge and gave him some antennas and that was that!

I'm really loving these cards and wishing I had ordered this set! :)
Now, I better get on with laundry and pick up the house and hopefully make time for more stamping later today!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Smiles, Pam : )
