I {Heart} SFYTT!

Speaking of kicking off your shoes to DANCE, how appropriate is it that I used Tangerine TANGO cardstock for this card? : )  You all know I have a thing for designer paper and can't seem to get enough of it.  Well, my sweet DIL gave me several sheets for my birthday and these were included.   I'm not normally a big fan of orange, but I do like Tangerine Tango and was happy to see it will be one of the new Stampin' Up! core colors in the Brights Collection.

This unique layout is from Jen del Muro's Sketch for You to Try.   I tucked the cardstock with the sentiment under the scalloped border and zig zag stitched the edge.  The felt flowers are from Stampin' Up! and I was lucky enough to find a turquoise button in my button jar.   I've had this spool of ribbon for ages and never found a use for it . . . until today!  :)   Love it when that happens!   

Just in case you want a glimpse of the inside . . .

I've left the inside blank for now.  The flower on the bottom is punched out so the tangerine tango shows through and then I used a smaller felt flower and orange brad for the center. 

What do you think of the colors?  If this was a color challenge, I probably would have run away!  :)

{SFYTT} Vintage Blooms

It's been awhile since I've had the pleasure of playing along with one of Jen del Muro's I {Heart} to Stamp Sketches.   Her samples are always the perfect inspiration!  Be sure to hop on over to her blog and check out her "You are TuTu Much" bunny card.  It's simply adorable and I *love* the pun intended!

Hopefully, you're not getting bored with all my "vintage" creations because I'm enjoying this style and based on the comments I've been receiving, it seems that many of you like it too.  This rose print background paper is another pattern from my K & Company 12 x 12 vintage designer paper pad.  I wasn't too sure about using this large rose print on a card, but I like to think it works.  Just humor me and tell me it does, ok?  ;)

This card was created for my *extra special* Etsy customer as an all-occasion card.  The photo on the right below shows you how I've finished the inside.

My hubby (also known as "Mr Wonderful" or MW) is my best critic and I usually show him all my creations to see what he thinks.   His comment on this one:  "I like all that stuff you've got going on there".    That made me laugh out loud.  :)

Do you have plans for the weekend?   Not too much going on around here, which is all fine and dandy with me!   The weather is very nice so I may get motivated to do a bit of yardwork tomorrow.  We'll see!

If you're still reading this, I have a favor to ask.  I have seen sooooo many awesome cards lately with the Pure Innocence cuties and I am in love with them.   As a Stampin' Up demonstrator (sort of), I don't feel like I should BUY any of those stamps, but I really would love to have a few images to color and create some cards.   If you would consider an image swap of Pure Innocence for Stampin' Up, please email me and we'll work something out.  Thanks!!  :)

{CQC#19 & SFYTT} You're Never More Than a Thought Away...

You all know I thoroughly enjoy participating in the various online cardmaking challenges! There are just *so* many great ones these days that I only wish I had more time so I could do them ALL!   Today, I've combined two of my favorites ~  Arielle's ColourQ Color Challenge and Jen's Sketch for You to Try!

Aren't these YUMMY colors for Valentine's week?  Love them together.  I don't know when the last time was that I used Blush Blossom.  I do know that I've been stamping for several years and I'm still on my first package of BB cardstock. 

You've probably noticed that I *love* designer papers and usually dig through my stash until I find one that will coordinate with the color scheme.  I think this vintage floral is about as old as it looks.  hee hee

It is called "lullaby small flowers" by daisydspaper.   I've combined it with the Stampin' Up! colors stated in the challenge, although I just now noticed "white" was one of the colors.  oops!  Oh wait, there is white thread in my stitching, although I did distress it so you can't tell.  : )

This is a unique sketch, don't you think?  For my close to cocoa circle, I actually went to my kitchen cupboard and found a plastic lid the size I wanted, then I traced and cut out the circle.  (I do have an old circle cutter, but it's hard for me to get the exact size I want with it.) Before I cut the circle out, I used my new favorite Stampin' Up! jumbo wheel from the Occasions Mini catalog ~ Very Vintage ~ and inked it up with close to cocoa.  The edges are sponged and it's zig zag stitched all around.

This was another great opportunity to use the darling little Sweet Pea Felt Flowers.  Also, I've used a FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set ~ Whimsical Words and the FREE Scallop Trim Border Punch too!!   FREE, I tell you! ...with any order of $50 or more during this special Stampin' Up! promotion through March 31st.

Below is a photo of how I finished off the inside of the card.  I used the same floral paper and punched the scallop border and zig zag stitched it down on the blush blossom.

What are you doing for Valentine's Day?  Any special plans?  I've got a pot of soup on the stove and hubby and I will enjoy our evening at home watching the Olympics.  I did make him a "special" card and will give it to him later with a box of his favorite pecan clusters.  Yes, he's the chocolate lover in the family, not me!
