{MOJO119} Let it Snow!

All this SNOW we've had lately is making me feel BLUE!! ;)

Just kidding! There isn't much we can do about it, so we may as well see the beauty in it, right? Actually, I don't mind the snow as much as the COLD! I think our high today is only going to be about 7 degrees! Brrrrrr! The photo below is the view from our back door. This drift has grown and changed over the past week as the wind continues to blow and we've had a couple more inches of snow. Isn't it pretty? It's covering almost our entire deck and we haven't even tried to scoop it off.

The inspiration for today's card came from this snowdrift. LOL ;) And the layout is MOJO Monday Sketch 119. It's been awhile since I've participated in Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, but it has always been one of my favorites and since this is the last one for 2009, I gave it a go!

For some reason, this is one of the cards that just did not come easy for me! Maybe I was trying TOO hard? Honestly, I don't even want to admit how long it took me. I fiddled with the ribbon and sentiment placement for the longest time. And when I used the glue pen to add the glitter to the snowman, I smeared his ice skates. That's why the sentiment ended up where it is!! ;) I also had three (3) snowflakes on it at one time and decided it was simply too busy! At last, I gave up on it and hope you like it! If not, just tell me you do! ha ha

This cute little snowman is from the Stampin' Up! Snowbuddies set. The sparkly blue snowflake designer paper is from my stash and I've layered it on whisper white and brocade blue cardstock. Do you like the ribbon? It's whisper white organza from Stampin' Up! The sentiment "Let it Snow" is from a retired SU set ~ Cold Play. Appropriate, huh?

What are you doing to celebrate the New Year 2010? We're having a nice quiet relaxing day here and I've got a pot of chicken noodle soup on the stove. Yummy! Hubby has had quite a cold and cough and this may be just what he needs! Last night we barely made it until midnight to ring in the New Year! We had some wine and watched the movie Julie & Julia. Have you seen it yet? Meryl Streep is perfect playing the part of Julia Child. I enjoyed it and wish I could cook like that!

I'm glad you stopped by today and hope you enjoyed your visit!

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year

filled with love, joy and peace!

New Year's Prayer
God grant us this year a wider view,
So we see others' faults through the eyes of You.
Teach us to judge not with hasty tongue,
Neither the adult ... nor the young.

Give us patience and grace to endure
And a stronger faith so we feel secure.
Instead of remembering, help us forget
The irritations that caused us to fret.

Freely forgiving for some offense
And finding each day a rich recompense.
In offering a friendly, helping hand
And trying in all ways to understand;

That all of us whoever we are ...
Are trying to reach an unreachable star.
For the great and small ... the good and bad,
The young and old ... the sad and glad

Are asking today; Is life worth living?
The answer is only in, loving and giving.
For only Love can make man kind
And Kindness of Heart brings Peace of Mind.

By giving love, we can start this year
To lift the clouds of hate and fear.
