Having FUN with another sketch challenge today. This is for the one and only Weekend Sketch Challenge hosted by Jenn Balcer. Be sure to check out her cute summertime card and the all the terrific cards by the WSC Team!
This is a new stamp I splurged on at Archivers. Seriously! $10 for ONE stamp?! I picked it up and put it down three times before I decided to buy it! :) It is appropriately titled "Bicycle with Flowers" by Rubber Soul. The little birdie is mounted on the side of the wood block so you can stamp him separately. I've stamped it on white cardstock, masked the image and sponged Stampin Up barely banana ink around the image to highlight it. The bird and basket of flowers were colored with the fine tip Stampin Up watercolor markers and the shadowing around the bike was done with the Copic W1. I've added Stickles glitter too for some added sparkle and stitch down the layers with my Janome Sew Mini. Love that machine! :)
The designer paper is all from an 8x8 paper & punch out tablet by Deja Views ~ Fresh Print Mango! After I finished this card, I thought it might be a bit "busy" with a lot going on. What do you think? You know I love hearing your opinions, good or bad. Well, be nice...I am sensitive. ;) Honestly, I think this is one of those stamps that could stand alone on a single white card layer with a simple sentiment.
It looks like the SUN is going to shine today! YaY! Wishing you all a fantastic fun-filled weekend!
Smiles 2 U!
Quote for Today ~
When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman
