{cQc #128 & SSSC154} Top o' the Morning!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, my Friends!

The title of this post should read Top o' the Evening, instead of morning.  I had intended to post this much earlier today and just kept getting sidetracked!  It's almost comical how I can move flit from one thing to another.   I needed to dust our bedroom and bath, especially the blinds, when I noticed how dirty the bathroom mirrors were and the next thing I knew, I was cleaning out the bathroom drawers and cupboards too.   And it was a great day to wash bedding so got that done as well.   :)   Not what I had planned to do, but so glad to have it done.

Well, the "Queen of Green" is at it again!  How could I resist this GREEN Colour Q Challenge, especially on St. Patty's day?!   Check out this unlikely color combination Arielle has challenged us with this week .  Oh. my. goodness!   I don't remember the last time I used Glorious Green!  And then she added Going GRAY to the mix.  Yikes!

.. . . all I can say is, it's a darn good thing I like green...
and it's St. Patty's Day today!

The shamrock made with punched out hearts is an idea that I cased from someone on Pinterest.  If I find the original, I will share it with you!  I stitched down the middle of each one so it could be folded up a bit to bring it to life. ;)  The stamps I've used are from Studio G...the fun little $1 clear sets at Michaels.

As you can see, the inspiration for the layout came from Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #154.

always want to show you the inside...
finished like the front with a mini heart shamrock!

It's been a couple weeks since I stamped a card and posted to my blog and it sure feels good to be back at it.  : )   One of the highlights of the last month was another *wonderful* trip to visit my *precious* granddaughter Emery Jude in Nevada.  She turned 8 months old the day I got there so we had a little photo session.  Here is one of my favorites . . .

The monthly sticker on her onesie was purchased as a 1-12 mo set on Etsy, along with the matching headband.  It's been so fun to look back at each month's photo and see how much she's grown.  Now, I have every intention of scrapbooking these photos and I'll be sure to share it with you when I do!

Emery is such a sweetie pie and totally adorable in every way!   My daughter had to work more than she had planned while I was there, so I got to "babysit" and loved every minute of it!  ♥   Here I am giving her a bath and trying to keep her from drinking soapy water . . .

Now, I leave you with an Irish blessing
because you all mean so much to me.

May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
brightened by a song in your heart,
and warmed by the smiles
of the people you love.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

{SSSC153} Tucker is Turning 4!

Today's card is a custom order for my dear friend and wonderful Etsy customer, Lu! ♥  She needs a card for a very special little guy in her life who is turning 4 on March 8th.   She thought he would like something with cars, so I used this cute "honk honk beep beep" designer paper by The Paper Studio.  What do you think of the random black stitching?  ;)  And I've embellished with a custom printed tag and a button tied on with black and white baker's twine.

The card is 5-1/4" square using buckaroo blue as the base.  The accent colors are pear pizzaz green and poppy parade red.  The number 4 was cut out using the Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.
The inspiration for the layout came from today's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #153

{  I hope you like this sentiment Lu!  }

I like to decorate the envelope too. (see photo below)  The banner was creating using my new itty bitty Unity stamp set,  Life Documented Banner stamped in colors to match the card.

The BEST thing is that I get to hand deliver this card to my friend in Las Vegas next week!!!  She's going to visit her family and I'm going to visit my daughter, son-in-law and precious grandbaby Emery!!!  I'm SO excited and just can't wait for all those {{{HUGS}}}!  ♥

Speaking of Emery, it's been awhile since I shared a photo and I know you're anxious to see her again. ;)  Would you believe she's going to be 8 months old already?  I sure hope she remembers me!

Our precious little DIVA... ♥

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you're enjoying your weekend and doing something that makes you *smile*!

{SSSC152 & CTD179} Thanks So Much!

Oh Happy Sunday!   Today I'm playing along with my favorite Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge combined with the Color Throwdown Challenge!   These are perfect colors for a Valentine, but Happy ♥ Day is past and I needed a thank you card instead.

Aren't these pretty colors for a baby girl's room?  I think so!
The base of my 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" card is crumb cake.  I stitched a piece of gingham designer paper (K & Company Brenda Walton) on top of poppy parade. On top of this is the blushing bride cardstock that I've embossed (Stampin Up! Square Lattice).   My little squares and the sentiment are stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia.  This is the same ink pad I use when distressing.  I simply take an inked sponge to the edges.   Stamped squares are from Stampin Up set ~ Cute by the Inch.

The inside is finished to coordinate with the front.  Stamped sentiment:  You're too Kind. (Stampin Up! Whimsical Words.

Thanks SO Much to all of you who stopped by today!  I'm going to get these linked up to the challenge blogs and spend the rest of my afternoon reading.  I got a Kindle for Christmas and find myself reading more and more.  Love it!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

{cQc #123} Love U! ♥

Yes, I've created another Valentine for you today! ♥  Please pretend it's yours, because I really do ♥ all of U, my dear blog readers!

This one was created using the *fun* color combo of Peach Parfait, Regal Rose and Poppy Parade.   I never would have thought to put these 3 colors together, but Arielle did!!  :)    You'll want to blog on over to the Colour Q and see all the amazing creations!   Here's the challenge inspiration photo...

Do my photos look dark to you?  It's so difficult for me to get a good photo under my flourescent lighting.   Anyway, I fiddled around with this one a bit and decided on the white cardstock base.  First, I had peach parfait and it was just a bit too much color.  The swirly heart red background paper is from the Basic Grey Cupcake 6x6 mat pad.   I only had a small piece of poppy parade left in my stash...just enough to cut the heart with my Cricut machine.  I used the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for both the heart and the U.   Love is stamped with cameo coral (retired) since I don't have peach parfait ink.  The stamp is from the Stampin' Up All About You set.

I've embellished with buttons and twine from Papertrey Ink.  The peach colored twill tape is a Jo-Ann Scrap Essential and the small peach heart is a Martha Stewart punch.  On the inside I've stamped a Winnie the Pooh quote from the Verve set Beautiful You.  Goodness, I used a boatload of different products on this card, huh?!   ;)

I'm happy you stopped by and I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
Wishing you all a very Happy ♥ Day!

P.S.  Have you found Pinterest yet?   Oh my, it is addictive, but so full of inspiration!   Here is the link to my boards, if you're interested.  You may especially like Better Than Hallmark where I've pinned some of my favorite card creations from around blogland.   Or there is Words to Live By where I've pinned some of my favorite quotes and sayings...

{cQc & Jugs #122} You Are My Main Squeeze

Oh my goodness, isn't this just the sweetest little image?!  Last weekend I got in on Angela's big birthday discount SALE at Unity Stamps!  :)  This is an itty bitty by Unity, appropriately titled You are My Main Squeeze.   I've colored the image with Copic markers, trying to coordinate with this week's Colour Q Challenge

Along with the color challenge, I decided to use the Just Us Girls Sketch Challenge too! It was the perfect layout for the image size I was working with today.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a GREAT weekend!
