{BIG NEWS!} Stampin' Up! Color Renovation!

In case you haven't already heard the BIG NEWS,

I want to tell you about Stampin' Up!'s plans for a major

COLOR RENOVATION!

Stampin' Up! has announced a refreshing,

updated color palette that will combine

current colors with previous In Colors,

and five NEW colors!

These luscious collections give us new and vibrant choices,

keeping our papercrafting passion original and exciting!

The 5 NEW Colors:
Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight,

Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Marina Mist

The 10 Returning In Colors:

Baja Breeze, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Rich Razzleberry,

Riding Hood Red, River Rock, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi

In addition to these colors, there will be 5 NEW In Colors that will be added this year and will stay in the collection for two (2) years.  All of these new color collections will be available on July 1st when the new Stampin' Up! 2010 catalog is released.

I know many of you will be sad to see your favorite Stampin' Up! colors being discontinued, but you can still stock up on cardstock and ink while supplies last.

Mercy has another terrific sketch for us to follow this week and I was amazed how quickly my card came together because all the layout work was done for me!  Gotta love that...especially after a busy weekend and full day of work on Monday! :)

For my birthday last month, my sweet daughter-in-law Jami and son Andrew gave me a gift bag full of cardmaking goodies, including three packages of these BIG beautiful paper flowers.  When I saw Mercy's sketch, I knew the flowers would be perfect!

This card was created using Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Her team of Sweet Sunday Stampers always inspire me and her sketches are such fun to work with!

This "memories" definition stamp is from Stampin' Up's incredible Define your Life stamp set.  This set has 28 double mounted stamps and endless possibilities.  It's been around awhile, but it's new to me so you'll probably be seeing lots more of it in the posts to come!   I thought the punched circle looked a little plain with only the memories stamp so I added a leaf branch behind.  The leaf was inked up in always artichoke and stamped off twice before stamping on the circle. 

This is a 5-1/4" square card using always artichoke cardstock and K & Company vintage designer paper.  This is a two-sided designer paper with the floral on one side and the stripe on the other.  Since the stripe was a bit bland, I took my Stampin' Up! very vintage jumbo wheel and rolled across it in Versafine vintage sepia ink. 

The sentiment circle is Stampin' Up! naturals ivory and the scalloped circle is ruby red.  On the inside, I used a scrap piece of the designer paper to make a border on the top with the scalloped edge punch.  On the bottom, I've used a fancy new photo corner punch from my dear friend and Etsy customer.  First I punched the photo corner and then I centered it in the Stampin' Up! scalloped square and punched again.  Pretty neat, huh?  : )

Aren't these colors simply *perfect* for Easter and Spring?

This is another fabulous color combination and inspiration photo from Arielle at the Colour Q Blog. She found these "cutie-patootie" pair of booties on Etsy.

My base cardstock is Stampin' Up! Lovely Lilac and I've stamped it with the On the Spot background to coordinate with my flowers.  The flowers are a combination of a couple different retired sets ~ Seeing Spots and Just 'Cause I Like You.   The Bermuda Bay layer was embossed with the swiss dots Cuttlebug folder and I used the Stampin' Up! scalloped edge punch on the right side... and also on the Certainly Celery "grass".

The photo on the left above shows you how I've finished the inside of the card.  I've left it blank for a personal handwritten message. 

I had hoped to spend all of my 3-day weekend stamping and creating cards, but duty called and for the past two days I've been cleaning and organizing our basement storeroom!  Goodness! It is amazing how much STUFF we have accumlated over the years!    Have you seen the show "Hoarders"?  : )  I would like to think it's not quite that bad, but years of "junkin" (going to garage sales & auctions) and collecting does add up!   Can any of you relate?   ; )

Before I go, I want to share an *adorable* Easter easel card I received in the mail yesterday from my sweet friend Dori who lives in Hawaii.  I have to find out how in the world she made this because it just shimmers!  And if I didn't know better, I think she may have created this bunny background paper herself!!   What's funny, is that I've been making easel cards the past couple weeks, but I've never made this particular size.  It wasn't until I was photographing her card that I saw the extra fold and realized it was an easel card!  duh!  :)

Happy Hi Peeps!

Just a quick post today to say Hi and let you know I'm planning to STAMP it UP this weekend!   I made this card last week when I was on a roll with creating easel cards.   These are so FUN and you should really try it, if you haven't already!

Isn't this paper pretty?  It's a new one from a K&Company vintage 12 x 12 Classic K pad.  You'll be seeing more of this!
