Another Yard Sale Find! { Stamps Happen! }

Yesterday, my sister and I went junkin at a small town about twenty miles from where we live. They were having a "city-wide" sale with over 30 yard sales. We had *so* much FUN and really found some terrific bargains. I did find a couple rubber stamps and this is one of them. It's "His Symphony" by Stamps Happen and I paid 50 cents for it! :) I've stamped it with onyx black Versafine instant dry pigment ink and colored it with prismacolor pencils. This is a large image and my finished card measures 5x7".


For the photo corner in the upper right, I punched a small 1/4" square and then centered it in my 1-1/4" square punch. Once that was punched out, I cut it in half and wah-lah...you have two photo corners! Does this make sense? It wasn't my original idea and I don't recall where I saw it, but I sure like the look! The blue accent piece on the left side has been Cuttlebugged with the tiny bubbles embossing folder.

p.s. I almost forgot to tell you what else I found yesterday! Probably one of my *best* finds... two pair of beautiful sterling silver earrings for only 50 cents each! They are just the style I wear! I'll have to take a photo of them for you to see. Stay tuned!

Friendly Flowers { Penny Black }

This wonderful Penny Black "Friendly Flower" image was sent to me by Nancy (directmailscrapper) for her Virtual Swap at The Stamp Shack. I am in *love* with it and had a great time coloring it in with prismacolor pencils. I don't even want to tell you how long it took me. :/

I tried a variety of different layouts for this card and finally settled on this very simple 5x5 square. Don't you think the image speaks for itself?

For the sentiment on the inside, I was thinking of something to do with friendship and flowers, such as:

SweeT StuFF! { Tiers of Treats }

This yummy image was sent to me by my favorite eBay seller, Michelle at Stamper's Dream Stamps. It is by Stampendous ~ called Tiers of Treats . She stamped it on a quality watercolor paper using a Versafine Onyx Black ink pad and then embossed it with a detailed clear embossing powder. I colored it with my prismacolor pencils and doodled around the edges with a fine black Zig pen. For a little sparkle, I added Stickles Glitter Glue on the cupcakes. Don't they look good enough to eat?! :)

This is a fairly large image, so my card is 5 x 7". I'm not sure you can tell by the photo, but it's a fold-out card. The front flap is scored at 2-1/2" and folded back. The image is glued on top of the left half. I've layered the image with the square scalloped punches, overlapping them into a rectangle the size I needed. The *Sweet Stuff* tag is from the Stampin' Up! Very Punny set. (I masked off the lollipop and just used the saying.)

I created the pink polka-dot cardstock on the left by stamping with one of the dots from the Paper Tray no. 1 set. The blue cardstock on the right was put throught the Cuttlebug with the Spots and Dots embossing folder. (I had to run it through twice because of the length of the piece.)

Wish this "Tier of Treats" was for real and I would invite all of my blog friends over for some *sweet stuff* and stamping FUN! Smiles, Pam :)

This card was tricky to photograph because of the extra fold and the white cardstock. I think I should have put a colored background behind it. Anyway, I think you can get the idea! :)

It is just a regular size card 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 folded in half and then the top half folded back in half again. I layered the red and blue cardstock on top and then the patterned paper by doodlebug design, inc. (946 yankee doodles & 947 stars and stripes) I found this paper at Archivers last time I was there and thought it was so perfect for the occasion. The God Bless America stamp is a retired Stampin' Up stamp from 2001.

Happy Birthday Jami!!!

Today is my sweet daughter-in-law Jami's birthday!

We're planning to celebrate tonight when I'll give her this card and her gift. (that's a SURPRISE! and I better not spoil it for her!) If you follow her blog, Crazy Daisy Creations, you may wonder what happened to her. She's been so busy this past week getting her bathroom remodel project done before their friends arrived from Wyoming. It's done now and looking FANTASTIC! She said it's the best room in the house! :)
We haven't seen much of them the past few days... they've been to a concert, went camping and should be back tonight in time for her birthday party! Her friend Mandey is having a Mexican Fiesta and I'm taking fruit pizza for dessert. I made one on Sunday to take to our friends and it was *so* yummy I decided to make another! I've got to go finish it now and will post a photo and the recipe when I get back... Smiles! Pam :)



One hour later... I've got her gift wrapped and the fruit pizza ready to serve. Doesn't it look delicious?! Really, Jami's favorite dessert is cheescake, but I hope she likes this just as well. There are many great fruit pizza recipes and I used a combination of a couple different ones that I found on Allrecipes.com.



Card supplies: Image is "Wave Words" by Stampendous. (sent to me by Nancy (directmailscrapper). Happy b-day is from TAC Tag Tidbits. Pixie Pink and Green Galore cardstock by Stampin' Up! Background on green is stamped with SU Simple Stripes and put through Cuttlebug with the Happy Birthday embossing folder. Left side background paper is Basic Grey. Tag was made with Martha Steward 1" scalloped punch and layered with 1-1/4 & 1-3/8" circle punches.
